Option Appraisal of Admission Prevention Services for Older People

Description
Increased budget pressures led Croydon Local Authority to commission this project to support funding and prioritise services. The study involved nine service groups and local third sector partners. The service leads were interviewed and activity, costs and performance data analysed and forecasts prepared. An option appraisal workshop was held resulting in a prioritised list of services and budget requirements going forward.

Services provided
Research, the collation and creation of databases, cost benefit analysis, market mapping highlighting demand and supply drivers, workshops, benchmarking & interpretation, activity & cost forecasting, presentations, report writing.

Highlights
We presented a picture of the service that enabled the groups to gain a greater sense of clarity and cohesion between disparate activities. The groups were able to use our work to bid for further resources.
